All Rules, Regulations and applications can be pick up at your village Mayors office or at the Mayor's Council located in Agana. Once your application is complete please drop it off at your village Mayor's office or the Mayors Council in Agana.

2007 Liberation Day Queen’s Committee

Liberation Day Queen Candidate Rules and Regulations

 

 

ARTICLE I – CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

 Section 1          Minimum Qualifications:

 A.  Candidate must be at least sixteen (16) and not more than twenty-five (25) years of age on June 1, 2007

B.  Candidate must be of good health and moral character.

C.  Candidate must not be married, have never been married, and have never had a marriage annulled.

D.  Candidate must have never given birth to a child and is not now pregnant. 

E.   Candidate must be a natural born female citizen of the United States or permanent resident of Guam.

F.   Candidate must not have any visible tattoos and/or body piercing.


ARTICLE II – SPONSORS AND QUEENS COMMITTEE

Section 1          Each village Mayor will sponsor their Candidate to participate in the 2007 Liberation Queen Pageant. Sponsor(s) will be responsible to purchase from the Queen’s committee her pageant dress in which they will use to participate in the 2007 Liberation Pageant.  All contestants will wear the same dress design for this pageant.

Section 2          Queen’s committee will supply village Mayors with a sash for their candidate. This sash will be worn during the 2007 Liberation pageant.

           Example:  Miss Dededo, Miss Agat, Miss Yigo etc….. 

 

ARTICLE III – DETERMINATION OF LIBERATION DAY QUEEN AND ROYAL COURT


Section 1          Contestant will be judged on character, poise, personality, intelligence, charm and previous, current or future community service. There will be a panel of five (5) judges who will score starting at 1 being the less and 10 being the highest from the above requirements. The contestant who scores the highest points will be the 2007 Liberation Queen. The contestant who receives the second highest points will be 2007 Liberation Royal Princess. The contestant who received the third highest points will be 2007 Liberation 1st Runner Up.

 ARTICLE IV – PRIZES

 Section 1          The prizes for the 2007 Liberation Day Queen, Royal Princess, 1st  Runner- up, will be as follows:

 A.  The 2007 Miss Liberation Day Queen will receive various gifts equivalent to and not to exceed the total value of One-Thousand dollars ($1,000). The following items to be included in this $1,000 gift package: a trophy, tiara, sash, one (1) formal dress, one (1) island formal dress, one (1) souvenir pictorial album and floral bouquet. In addition she will receive $1,000.00 to be donated to her village Mayors office. In addition, one off-island trip with Guam Visitors’ Bureau (GVB) and special promotional appearances scheduled by GVB.

 

B.  The 2007 Miss Liberation Day Royal Princess will receive various gifts equivalent to and not to exceed the total value of Five Hundred dollars ($500.00). The following items are to be included in this $500.00 gift package: a trophy, tiara, sash, one (1) formal dress, one (1) island formal dress, one (1) pictorial album and floral bouquet. In addition she will receive $500.00 to be donated to her village Mayors office.


C.  The 2007 Miss Liberation Day 1st  Runner-Up will receive a trophy, tiara, sash, and floral bouquet. In addition she will receive $250.00 to be donated to her village Mayors office.


D.  The 2007 Miss Liberation Day 2nd  Runner-Up will receive a sash, and floral bouquet.

ARTICLE V – ROYAL COURT’S WARDROBE AND QUEEN’S FLOAT


Section 1          The Queen’s Committee shall decide the wardrobe to be worn by the Royal Court members at all public events in conjunction with the 2007Liberation Day Festivities.

Section 2          The Queen’s Committee shall be responsible for the construction and decoration of the Queen’s Float.

Section 3          The 2007 Liberation Day Queen, Royal Princess, 1st  Runner-up, and 2nd Runner-up Princess will be required to ride on the Queen’s Float.  The Royal Court Princesses may ride on another float during the Liberation Day Parade as chosen by their village Mayor.  Should any of the village Queen’s wish to participate in the parade, the Queen’s Committee must be notified no later than one (1) month prior to the parade date.

ARTICLE VI – CORONATION CEREMONY AND QUEEN’S BALL

Section 1          The 2007 Liberation Day Queen, Royal Princess, 1st  Runner-up Princess,

2nd  Runner-up Princess, and the Royal Court Princesses must attend all scheduled meetings and events including, but not limited to, the 2007 Liberation Committee.

Section 2          The date, time, and place of the 2007 Liberation Day Coronation Ceremony shall be determined by the Queen’s Committee.

Section 3          The date, time and place of the 2007 Liberation Day Queen reception shall be determined by the Queen’s Committee.

Section 4          The date, time and place of the 2007 Liberation Day Mass shall be determined by the Queen’s Committee.

Section 5          The 2007 Liberation Day Parade is scheduled to be held on Saturday,July 21, 2007.  The time and place of the Parade shall be confirmed by theQueen’s Committee and relayed to the Royal Court Members.


ARTICLE VII – MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS


Section 1          Any and all matters not covered by these Rules and Regulations shall be deliberated and decided upon by the Executive Committee whose decision shall be final.

Section 2          The Executive Committee reserves the right to make changes in the Rules and Regulations and necessary and without prior notification.

Section 3          During the duration of the Liberation Festivities whether a scheduled event or participating in carnival festivities, the Queen and Royal court along with the Village Queens must dress appropriately at all times. In the event she was seen with inappropriate attire she will be asked to leave the festivities. If she refuses she will be strip of her title. If a second warning is given she will be strip of her title.
