Hafa Adai and greetings from the 2007 Guam Island Fair / 63rd Liberation Day Organizational Committee!

Each Liberation Day, celebrated on July 21st, our island community focuses its attention to mark this historic event and remember and honor the courage and sacrifice of those who died so that we might have the many freedoms that we enjoy today. This is our salute to our island’s 63 years of Freedom and Progress.

We are now once again gearing up for our annual Liberation Day Parade and hope that you and your organization or business will be participant.

General Information:

•    The Date of this year’s Parade is Saturday, July 21,2007 at 10:00a.m.
•    The location is Marine Corps Drive beginning at the Intersection of Adelup, in front of the Governor’s Complex and ending at the Paseo Loop near the Carnival Grounds.
•    The Theme of this year’s parade is “ The Spirit of Freedom”
•    To enter a float, marching unit of any other parade activity / entry, a Parade Application Form must be fully completed, signed and submitted with appropriate registration fees.
•    The deadline for submittal of Parade Entry Application’s is Friday, June 29,2007. Applications must be submitted to the Office of Civil Defense.
•    Applicable registration fee must be paid at the time of submittal of application.
•    Any applications received after the deadline will be considered only if opening in the parade line up exists.
•    Applications submitted without the registration fee or without a signed waiver or any incomplete information on the application WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
•    All entrants and participants must report to the parade site at Adelup Intersection no later than 7:00 a.m. on July 21st.
•    If you are entering a float, please provide a brief write-up or description of your float and how it pertains to the general theme.
•    All entrants are required to send a representative to attend the Parade Participation Safety Briefing scheduled for: July 13,2007 6:00pm at the Carnival Grounds Paseo.
